COPY PASTE INSTRUCTIONS AND TROUBLE SHOOT

Note: most DAWs have a different way to paste. We will update this webpage with more instructions. Check your DAW’s app instructions if a simple ’tap’ doesn’t work . When your DAW has copy/paste functionality it will work (a.o. Garageband, Auria, Cubasis, Music Studio, Multitrack Daw)!!

GARAGEBAND copy/paste instructions:

NOTE: It is best to set you GB advanced settings to ‘run in background’ for faster switch between apps . With this option GB doesn’t have to start up it’s engine every time, which prevents pasteboard issues! There’s no need to do this if everything works smoothly and fast enough for you.

1. In Horn Section HD press copy to pasteboard for the lick you want to copy. A popup appears which says the loop is copied to pasteboard

2. Open Garageband, and open new or existing song.

3. Tap your finger on empty field within your song, a ‘paste’ pop-up appears and click paste. A new track will appear with the lick.

4. The lick is 1, 2 or 4 bars (stereo mix), depending on style and music ‘length’  and cut to perfection in its own bpm. To repeat the lickp at any length, select the lick  by tapping on it, then tap again and a dialog will appear with options (choose ‘loop’ to repeat).

NB: The ‘copied to GB’ lick’s bpm will follow instantly the bpm of your Garageband project (tempo change).
You can also choose to set GB to the proper lick’s bpm first and change it after pasting the lick. This is wise when the bpm of your project is much higher (or lower) than the chosen lick’s bpm.

NOTE: Audiobus triggers – in iOS 7.0.2 the Garageband audiobus rec button doesn’t work properly. This problem is fixed in iOS 7.0.3 (iOS update october 23rd)

CUBASIS copy/paste instructions (scroll down for CUBASIS 2 & 3):

1. In Horn Section HD press copy to pasteboard for the lick you want to copy. A popup appears which says the lick is copied to pasteboard

2. Open your Cubasis project.

3. Select an audio track

4. In the upper left corner click on ‘media’

5. In the pop up list on the left, select ‘audio’

6. Click in the bottom left corner on ‘import’

7. Two words appear: audiopaste and ipod import, select ‘audio paste’

8. The audio paste popup click on ‘source’ and select (scroll) general pasteboard (unknown)

9. Click on ‘done’ and then click on ‘paste’

10. In the medialist on the right, scroll downwards until you see the ‘general pasteboard wav’ with the current time and date. Dubble click on the name and you’ll find it in the track

IMPORTANT NOTE CUBASIS 2:
If the “audiopaste from pasteboard” popup doesn’t appear and you get redirected to the AudioCopy app:
The Audiocopy app (third party; it uses Sonoma protocol 2 and doesn’t recognise apple’s clipboard).
If you delete this app, Auria will paste as it is supposed to do from the clipboard.

IMPORTANT NOTE CUBASIS 3:
CUBASIS 3 is requiring Audio Share, but Audio Share allows to transport the loop from Horn Section HD to AudioShare and then to Cubasis 3. It’s more cumbersome than the older method with Cubasis 1 and 2, but it definitely works out.
